To further enhance the quality and purity of YUNNAN teas, the company „YUNNAN ChangNingHong Tea“ has started to convert their tea gardens to organic farming. The tea garden „Ji Fei Village“ is located in the west of YUNNAN near the border with Myanmar. In this remote upland area organic farming has been practised for at least 30 years. Therefore, the organic certification of the tea garden through the national Australian certifying company (NASAA) took place in a shorter time. Under the number „CN-BIO-119“ the tea factory and packaging department have been certified as organic enterprises, too.

Completing certification for sustainable agriculture through the „Rainforest Alliance“ is another important goal of the company. Large parts of the tea cultivation areas have already been certified and more tea gardens will follow step by step.

The leaves used for the organic teas have been picked by hand from time immemorial, following the rule: two leaves and the bud. Further processing is undertaken using traditional and careful methods in the nearby factory. Only noble, pure, large-leaved teas are created. Before packaging, the quality of the teas is tested by the independent laboratory of „Eurofins“, which is accredited by the Chinese regulatory authority „CNAS“.

Right now green tea and black tea is made in „Ji Fei Village“. Here the teas are also packaged and prepared for shipping to Europe. Thus the vision of the American tea pioneer Sir Lipton is realised: „From the tea garden to the tea pot.“
